  • 2017 World Grand Prix

Here we go again, another tournament begins, seems like only yesterday since the last one.

Trump v Ford at 7pm, then Higgins v Michael White.

Lets see if the Preston crowd can muster up the enthusiasm of the Germans.

Why on earth is the main camera so far away from the table?? Anyone got any opera glasses I can borrow?
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

Opera glasses? Oooo, you're posh aren't you! It doesn't take up much of the screen does it.

      Nice start from Tom, 87 break, 1 - 0....

ah, as there is so much space around the table the camera is so far away so the sponsor's logo can be seen
          Up the TSF! :snooker:

I'd rather we had a proper table view and a Ladbrokes logo on the screen

Is snooker losing it's appeal or did somebody forget to advertise this?

                  The place is empty.

Well played Michael White, a very good win over John Higgins and a very enjoyable match.

Either the venue's too remote, it's the wrong weekday or it's simply a case of overkill - one tournament too many crammed into the calendar (I mean, the German Masters finished barely two days ago and the Welsh Open starts immediately following this bash)

                        Or all three reasons ....

They hold a lot of the qualifiers for different events in Preston which the general public can attend. My guess is that they aren't exactly starved of snooker so won't flock to see early round matches.

Murphy, not only an altered cue but wearing contacts for the first time in a pro match, daring?
                            Up the TSF! :snooker:

Good to see Murphy playing with confidence again.Contacts and a 1/2 inch shorter cue seems to have done the trick. But,why no spectators? Tickets to expensive?
