  • 2017 International Championship

The third biggest ranking tournament of the season behind the World Championship and the UK Championship. It offers the same winners share as the China Championship and the World Open with 150.000 pounds and ranking points for the winner, BUT contrary to them the International Championship, which features a draw of 64 players, has a Best-of-11-format for the first four rounds and the semifinal is Best-of-17, while the final is standard Best-of-19. Yeah, I don't have this one.

Sam Craigie takes out Thepchaiya Un-Nooh by 6-5. It's a pity that the Thai is so inconsistent.

from what I saw, to me it was not inconsistency that cost him the match just Craigie has raised his own game

Robbie Williams beats Zhang Anda 6-5 on a respotted black in the final frame, Robbie also beat Zhang 6-5 by the same score last year in this event and it was in te same round as well. I see Leo Fernandez is black playing again after his ban, his first round opponent is Michael Holt, Leo as a lot of points to make up if he is to remain on the tour
Ronnie O' Sullivan seven times the record breaking Snooker Master

It was the most intriguing qualifier for me and indeed Akani Songsermsawad proved again to be a dangerous opponent as he took out Marco Fu 6-4. So we have the first big absentee at the International Championship.

I only saw some of that match but Fu looked good when I did, so (as you say) Akani showing good form of late

Cao Yupeng eases through with a 6-2 win over Chris Wakelin. Maybe he draws new confidence from his good result at the World Open, will be interesting to see.

Are some of the qualifying matches moved to the main event? Mark Selbys match isn´t on the program for the qualifiers, and Matthev Stevens - Zhao Xintong also looks like it´s been held over.

He has got some intense eyebrows action. Reminds me of Joe Johnson.
