  • 2018 German Masters

The qualifiers started already today. Prominent losers so far are Stephen Maguire (1-5 to Gary Wilson) and Michael White (3-5 to Robin Hull). Sunny Akani (1-5 to Fergal O'Brien) also lost.
And right now Ding Junhui has a difficult day again, as his match against Gerard Greene is levelled at 3-3.

When did Sunny Akani become prominent?

Not really yet. But his match against O'Sullivan drew a lot of attention here, therefore I included it despite his loss didn't really surprise me.
More of a surprise is Yan Bingtaos 3-5 loss to Matthew Selt. Ding is through, winning 5-4.

Jimmy up 3-1 on McGill. Both he and Doherty have been pretty good this year. The next step is to string 2-3 good matches together.

Jimmy has lost the plot a bit. 4-3. Nice to see Cao win his match after the huge disappointment on Sunday.

Kyren Wilson and Ali Carter are two more Top 16 players that fell in the first round already.

Trump seems to think he can hammer opponents, when will he wake up. He's not much better than anyone in the 128. He needs so much maturing

Good to see Anthony Hamilton qualify for this event, in which he defends the title. He hadn't won a match since August. Hopefully this is a sign, that he's healthy again and will find some kind of good play again.

correct, only to hit an in-form Ronnie in the Semi finals, after beating Ding Junhui (out of sorts) and Ryan Day
I also hope he can make inroads into the top end and maybe defend
