Allen is playing brilliantly, however all this rubbish about him being a big match player, is nonsense, if he was he would have won some of the big tournaments.

I think that he often plays some of his best snooker in important matches, though his record at the World Championships in recent times is pretty poor. But maybe it's better to say that he certainly has a healthy self-confidence and isn't afraid when playing against the very best players.
He just lacks a bit in overall quality and consistency to be among them himself and therefore be more successful at the biggest tournaments.

There are 2 MJWs and it would seem the wrong one turned up tonight, hopefully they'll pass the baton in the interval. No big breaks but they've both played some gutsy shots.
