Two more big guns gone this afternoon in Ding and Robertson. I wonder if Ding is on some sort of anti-depressant, he just doesn't look there to me.

I've had this impression already over parts of last season, especially at the end. Something seems wrong with him sadly.

Saw bits of Robertson - Walden which looked like a fairly good match. To me it really seems that Walden is back.

Also out is Judd Trump by the way, who lost 3-5 to Gary Wilson.

Good to see Fu go one round further.

After another strong showing Lisowski needs one more win to enter the Top 20 for the first time in his career.

            The Round of sixteen:
            Milkins - Fu
            Gilbert - Walden
            Hawkins - Selt
            O'Brien - G. Wilson

            Selby - Saengkham
            Xiao - Hamilton
            K. Wilson - Lisowski
            Perry - M. Williams

The lower half on paper looks way stronger. In the upper half I'd actually pick Walden to make the final right now, though you got to have Hawkins as the favourite.

Ding is due to become a father in a few days. Maybe that’s the reason.

Hopefully another snooker champ in the making if the kid wants to of course.

Oh well, no wonder he's on anti-depressants. Seriously though, I had no idea, hope all goes well for them.

Well done Lisowski in what looked like a tough tussle with Kyren Wilson, where Wilson stole the first three frames from under Jack's nose - must have hurt but Jack seems to be (at last) a mature 27yo to forget that and move forward

Another good win for Lisowski. He was 0-3 down against Kyren Wilson, but fought back to win 5-4. In the decider he also showed his new found maturity as he played some wise safety shots and ultimately won the battles for blue and pink. He now climbs up to World Number 20.

Xiao is also through to the quarterfinals after beating Anthony Hamilton 5-3.

Selby is fighting hard again. He lost a respotted black in the sixth frame to fell 2-4 behind against Saengkham. Then already needed foul points by his opponent in the seventh to stay in the match. He got them and shortened the Thai's lead to 3-4.
