Just reading that back I meant QF/SF as a 1 table, not the whole tournament!

The paying public are increasingly getting less viewing time for their money. I'd even be up for a 3 week long tournament.
QF in one table means that the players that started his 1st in evening, then could not play again 2nd session until 2 days later, and the third session until next

      Example, with current standands

      QF1: Day 1 10:00//Day 2 14:30//Day 3 19:00
      QF2: Day 1:14:30//Day 2 19:00//Day 4 10:00
      QF3: Day 1:19:00// Day 3 10:00//Day 4 14:30
      QF4: Day 2:10:00//Day 3 14:30//Day 4 19:00

2 of the matches lasts 4 days to end, I think it is not a possible schedule

In my mind this is right-thinking. The world championship absolutely must remain a ridiculous test of stamina, with players having the opportunity to play themselves in and out of form, and still win (or lose). I don't really watch most of the coin toss short format tournaments, they just don't hold my attention. I was always fascinated by the long grind over multiple sessions, and the sort of player (like mathew stevens) who appeared to be long format specialists.

Personally I would be against any shortening of the two week match schedule, and I would argue that the UK needs to be restored to it's previous format. I'd like to see longer matches at the masters, too. The triple crown events should be special, and ridiculous tests sort of special.

I like the long format, but best of 35 throughout would be crazy. Tournament would be about 4 weeks+, and the qualifiers would have to play a potential 100+ frames in the run up over another 2 weeks before they even got to the Crucible. It's fine as it is. Short format has its place too.

I agree with you. But just one comment, the reason to reduce the semi-final was not like to change the current world championhsip in a short format, it just because of the proportion between rounds. Semi now is basically as long as the final, and lasts one day more

The semi-finals has always been a bit of an anomaly - the Quarter Finals takes two days and the Final takes two days but the Semi-Finals takes three days. But they should absolutely not change it!

Shorten the semi-final, and Higgins wouldn't have been in the final. He was a dog for a couple of sessions, out on his feet. 3 sessions, and you deprive arguably the greatest match player of all time of finding a way to make another final. I'm no fan of Higgins, but what he did was phenomenal, and gave Trump the chance to win a worthy world championship, rather than being the last experienced man standing. I would absolutely hate any of the WC rounds to be made shorter. Longer I'm okay with. It feels like the one tournament where you cant catch someone out over a session and leave them too much to do. You can actually play yourself in. That's immense to me.

I don't understand the logic of snooker fans saying they want less snooker! They are obviously not snooker fans!
