As snooker has its very own phrasemaker, I thought I'd collect the various coinages by Alan McManus. Contributions please

"He's got the heart of a Kalahari lion!"

"Smooth seas don't make skilled sailors."

"As fertile a place as the Crucible garden is, sometimes it takes the brightest flower to bloom."

Ever hear Sid Waddell commentating on the American pool? Christ it was terrible.

On a barely related tangent (any excuse to post this), Murray Walker would be a great snooker commentator...

I don't recall any specific lines from him but he is my favourite.

Top 10 greatest players of all time here, up for discussions.

You have to hear this in full-on accent to appreciate it, but he cracks me up when a player misses a pot with his, "No, sir!"
"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

I like the Scottish ones he comes out with - I didn't think anyone actually said "jings!"

                            Absolutely legendary is McManus's Commentary.
Another thing he says is calling the ref "Ollie" - Olivier Marteel.

My heart leapt like a River Dee salmon. Quote from a previous tournament.

PS. The river Dee is in Scotland and is famed for its salmon fishing.
