Indeed. Fantastic long pots - none plays those long pots the way he does -, if the control of the white ball had been half as good as those maybe the result of the QF would have been different. Anyway i m happy to see Mark getting so far in a tournament ..it didnt happen since the 2006 Worlds when he played the QF ag. Ronnie. Our commentators said he went 10 places up in the rankings after this QF, he's 33 provisional hope he will reach a better place till the end of the season.
Well done to Mags... my fav highlander in the circuit..hope he'll win the semi as well. Mon Magsy!

Good to see Ding playing the way he got us used to , tis the best run he had this season...guess "the Dragon" is back!

..and of course ...MON the Rocket!!!!!!!!!

I think Ronnie has a difficult task a head of him. Jamie Cope goes for every ball on the table. If his long pot success is high today, then my money is on Jamie.
And another thing, are you all Ronnie's fans? My opinion is that there are loads of better players on the circuit. (Higgins, Murphy, Maguire, Day.....)

Can't stand Murphy as usual so I'll be cheering for Maguire.. Pretty funny that the two players who dislike eachother most on the tour winds up playing eachother all the time.

    And yeah, come on Ronnie.

Yeah, I was there yesterday (you could see me in more or less every shot on Williams / Maguire table!). Williams is getting back to form, the long potting is back, just wished he hadn't tried that awkward Williams trade mark shot instead of getting the rest out, but it is all coming back together for him now. Get him up those rankings a bit.

Yes, I hope he can start to rebuild his match confidence after a decent run this week.

    QF2

    Table 1
Ronnie O'Sullivan v Jamie Cope* Ref: Terry Camilleri

    QF2
    Table 2

Another interesting day, I think Selby vs Fu will be a closer match than Ronnie vs Cope.

Murphy played really well, but in my opinion, Ding also gave a top performance. An unfortunate foul on the pink when shooting the blue to canon into the pack cost Ding the last frame, in which Murphy did a beautiful job in securing his victory in one visit to the table. Ding's long pot was dead on. Ding also had a kick on the pink in the previous frame, which again cost him the frame. Murphy has such a beautiful rhythm and cueing action, I really enjoy watching him.

Ding has never beaten Murphy so far in tournament if I have my stats right, I think.

WTF - no posts on this thread since 12.58.

No one care that Murphy and Maguire make the semis again ? (Forum numbers are way down still. ) Those 2 and Ronnie are miles ahead of the others in terms of consistency at the moment.

I'm looking forward to the semi final Shaun Murphy - Mark Williams.
(I'm astonished by the way Shaun hits the cueball. There is no better cueist in the game)
