Higgins hit a 147 in his final match in the LG Cup and then again in his 1st round match at the British Open against Michael Judge.

Higgins, I think. And if I'm not mistaken, it too happened in two consecutive tournaments.
    Can someone confirm?

What can i say.. ronnie haters will never give him a break .. he played as good as any top player .. he produced a great play all week long. .by his standards was not the top . but it was awesome.

he ended the game with a fantastic 147 .. what else you want .. stop bitching and cool the hell down. .. and give the man his due.

    Go ronnie Go

'average' by Ronnie's standards perhaps - i thought he played a solid performance and although not at his best, he looked more dangerous as the match went on.

When Mark Selby missed that red at the start of that frame, he was unlucky that it went right over the corner with a perfect angle to go in the pack. I thought at the time if he got a good split on that shot, Ronnie would win the frame and match, but to polish off with a 147 is awesome stuff.

indeed Wim. my comment was made a couple of frames B4 the end, and up until then it was a good match, but not amazing standard.

how someone playing a 147 AFTER that can make my comment about the previous play "invalid" is beyond me

The maximum surely was great, but overall it wasn't that impressive.
I hope for a close match tomorrow.

Probably the greatest person to ever pick up a cue.
Probably ?? you must be joking

    Un-freaking-believable.

Hendry made one in a decider in '97, but that was an invitational event (vs ROS in the final). UK semi decider - different level.

And seeing one on live TV is always a treat.

The final is a different match altogether... remember ROS's 147 vs Carter and then his match against O'Brien in the NI Trophy.
