I believe the first match in each of 3 sessions (and they will have tv cameras on the second match table as well so there might be some action shown from those matches if the first ones are over quickly) - so it's Ronnie, Hendry and Williams that we will see on TVs.

As much as I hope for an upset, I'd rather expect a whitewash.
The match against King seems to have been a rather scrappy affair without any big breaks and both players had their chances, as far as I can judge from "watching" part of it on the live ticker. Against O'Sullivan: no chance

Oh, poor Mark King, he got beaten TWICE, according to the BBC
There were mixed fortunes for the home hopes as Welshman Ryan Day beat Mark King 5-2

Very glad to see Steve Davis go through. Also pretty happy to see Stevens perform as well as expected. There's a good chance he won't make it to the top 16 now with many players below him progressing.

Dott gone, Maguire out, pretty surprising there.

Davis is up against O'Sullivan next most likely. Can we expect a major surprise there or will Ronnie trounce Steve?

I'm gutted that King got knocked out. I really thought it would be his tournament.

There's still China i suppose, plus the much anticipated WC qualifier with Jimmy White.

Ah yeah, Higgins definitely won't beat or even come close to Ding if he continues the crappy form he's had for a while, including this match. But at least he gets a chance this time and the positive side is that's he's played quite a few matches in a row now without a long break in between (thanks to reaching the SF of the Malta Cup), so he might find a bit of form and rythm as he plays yet another match thursday. But yeah, it will have to be a lot better. More frames like the 5th and 7th ones.

higgo did the job at the end but if he produce a similar cueaction with Ding and gives him chances like today...

wondering how will Ding react after the match with Murphy...the end was not looking well..

John wins his match after an "infarct" eight frame...John didn't look very well today...physically speaking ...but still he managed to made the highest break of this tournament so far.except from the 125 and 86 breaks from Higgins...it was a poor match.
    Nevertheless...great job John

Meanwhile there were some surprises McManus/Dale 5-2 , Judge/Dott 5-4 and i would say that Robertson/Cope 5-1 was also quite unexpected...i thought it will be a real close one

All in all....a pretty good day of snooker

Finally! I hate it when Eurosport quits broadcasting a match when it's nearing the end. Watching live scores is not fun, you don't know what's happening and the last frame was just annoying to watch on live scores, but finally Higgins won it 5-3, I really thought "Not again, 4-4 of course...", but ok.

Finally a second round in a ranking tournament again, it's at least something and he made two great breaks, you've got to start somewhere I guess.
