The age restriction sort of baffles me. 10yrs old is a little young so why not 14yrs or something similar? Also, as a 67yr old player I'd be right pissed off at the age 50yr limit if I happened to live in China.

I believe for the most part there is no specified age limit for most international snooker qualifiers and even in the IBSF world champs a player of any age can compete in the open part and doesn't have to play in the Masters even if over 40yrs old.

In the pro ranks there are also no age or sex limitations, so I wonder why the CBSA has instituted these. Are women allowed to play? I understand China has it's own pro ranking and tour although in the rest of the world if a player is not on the main pro tour he is considered an amateur and can play in all amateur events organized by the national governing body.

About sex limitations: No, but there's too few female snooker players. The best result of female players are still come from Hong Kong - Ng On Yee, but be ousted in last 32 in Pre-qualifying round.

And the age restriction, well.... I can't make a comment, maybe you ask CBSA.
