Pro tour questions

Okay, so you go to the qualifying school and make it to the semis and get your tour card, what actually happens after that and how does the tour itself work? Do the players themselves keep track of every event and what will happen or does a manager keep them in check and guide them from country to country?
Trying to work out in inner workings of the tour is so confusing.

I'd imagine it's up to the player if they want a manager or not, they're basically self-employed tradesmen really.

World snooker inform them by letter with the details of every event they are eligible to play the qualifiers in.
