Thanks mate, sounds promising. I'll have to ask the club to see about trying it out on one table.

600/600 LED panels made for suspended ceilings work brilliantly
You can get them for as cheap as £30 with a driver could be mounted in or under the canopy
I've got one over my pool table
        Get the 6000k colour

The daily light bulbs are the best and cost effective

Save even more energy by buying LED tubes for your dextra's. You will need an electrician to take out the gubbings from the units, as the LED's have their own transformers. They have come down in price so not as much initial outlay. They are 70% more efficient! Greener than green.
              Cheap and Cheerful! 😄

"daily" light bulbs, what like daily contact lens? put them in in the morning and dump them at night? very cost effective!

Lol. The cool white are the best Imo. As the warm white have a tint of yellow to them. Not nice at all. The LED's tubes are the way to go for sure. You can even twist them while they are in situ to a certain degree until you are happy with the spread. I would only have 2x 5ft's as the light easily spreads to the top and bottom cushions, plus you save yourself a few quid. I find that the bottom of the units should sit between 4-5ft from the slate. They are great! Especially with the LED's fitted!

yes, 5ft gap between the bed of the table and the bottom of the units, what Geoff Large told me years ago

I have LED panel lighting on my table. Each panel is 1ft x 1ft and I have 12 of them, they're 40 watts each. You could get away with less panels and still have a great amount of light. If you have a tile ceiling then they simply fit into those, otherwise they could probably be suspended.

Do you have a picture you could post of them? Not really seen the panel types. Cheers.

I'm considering replacing my 5ft Fluro tubes (very similar to the dextra) with LED tubes. Any recommendations/links for the LED tube types? I don't remember exactly what i have... HF daylight type i think?
