Fouling on the black means it is not a total clearance. A total clearance is a break where every red has been potted followed by all of the colours in sequence.

    Therefore the answer is 44.

The other scenario people have described (potting 15 reds in one shot followed by the yellow, followed by colours up to the pink and potting the black and fouling the white) is classed as a break of 37 and then a foul. Doesn't matter that the ball isn't replaced, it is still not classed as a total clearance.

If you read the first few posts it explains why that is wrong

Give an infinite number of monkeys with a microphone each an infinite number of years and one of them will eventually shout 'where's the cue ball going!'

Legal clearance wasn't the question though, minimum total clearance was, and the in off the black means all balls have been potted and nothing comes back up as the frame is over at 65-7.

Have all 9 or 15 balls been potted from the break in US pool ?
