  • Snooker room in Bulgaria

I have been asked to post some details and photos of my snooker rom here in Bulgaria.

First let me set the scene. I lived in China for 10 years up to 2016. Hence my somewhat, now, misleading nom de guerre! I am British but have owned a property here for many years and have now retired here. Part of the property is 2 barns attached to the main house. One of those is 60 square metres and that one I have concerted to a dedicated snooker room. It had worked well over the years until there was a severe stork which damaged part of the roof. This led to water damage and part of that is that the plasterboard box which accommodates the lighting is starting to come away from the ceiling. I didn't want that to come crashing down, damaging the lights and possibly the table underneath. So I have removed the lights and heavily padded the table.
I need some batten to make this good but at present there seems to be none available at any price!

Once the room is worth photographing I shall do so. The problem is that as it was designed as a snooker room it is deliberately dark except for the non functioning table lighting so at present I can't get good pictures.

The B & W tables have the legs so spread that the central 4 are under slate joints.

As almost everything in the room is antique I got a period appropriate table cover. To prevent getting fibres onto the table I have a plastic sheet under it.

This digital level turns to 0.1 degrees. A new bank note under one end will register.

We have a village near here where the storks outnumber the humans.

That's great. I saw a documentary where these (Shoebill Storks) are endangered in Africa. Also, heard that these are a pre-historic bird, descendants of the dinosaurs.
