  • Riley stamp marks

I've read on a few sites about the reasoning behind the numbers stamped on Riley cues..by that I mean the 1,2,3 And 4 stamps under the letter. It ranges from a wood stock...the drying shed and bench number. But what about it being a grade for stiffness or whippiness of the shaft..obviously billiards was still massive in the 30s , and the cues for both sports are certainly different.Im thinking a more springy cue is required for billiards ..whereas a stiffer cue may be better for snooker..hemce a stiffness grade...any thoughts or theories welcome
Working...
