  • The Snooker Player’s Guide to English Billiards by Martin Goodwill

Seen as there has been a bit of recent billiards interest on here, thought I'd flag up that the above book is available as a gratis download. You just need to create a free account on https://world-billiards.com/ then go to the Members / Publications tab. It's a great resource, does exactly what it says on the tin.

It's very strange, my link was there but when I clicked on it it went wrong. I went back into the site to look and I was logged in, so I've not closed it since, just incase. I don't think it's the most stable of platforms. I did it using safari, wouldn't work with chrome, maybe its ios only and not android but it doesn't say.

Hi Butch, did you manage to get to the download? If not, PM me your email address and I can help you out. I can't PM you as I don't have enough posts on here yet.

I also had trouble with the link so I bought the book, well worth $50 Canadian. The book describes how to make easy in-offs with a half-ball aim. A low black cue ball becomes an easy corner-loser setting up a Canadian Skittles Billiards win. In CSB one has to finish at 31 points exactly and on wood, that means the winning stroke must include knocking a skittle pin down legally. CSB takes features from Snooker but mostly from English Billiards. Great game to improve cue ball control.
