Tony Drago will be playing at the Third EPT Event this weekend 14th/15th October 2006 - The Midlands 8-ball Open held in Solihull. The draw and live scoring can be found online at the Pro9 website. Some of the very best cueists in the world will be in attendance including UK World Rules 8-ballers Darren Appleton, Mick Hill, Neil Raybone, Karl Boyes, Rob Chilton; EUKPF 8-ballers Andy Croasdale and Jayson Shaw and the UK's best 9-ball, turned US 8-ballers Daryl Peach (who won event 2) and Raj Hundal.

Jonni Fulcher will also be aiming to continue his rich vein of form after winning the Swiss Open recently. Nick van den Berg - arguably Holland's best player has made the trip aswell.

And finally, does anyone remember Patsy Fagan? Well Patsy has turned his attentions to 8-ball recently and will be challenging the worlds best too this weekend along with myself.

MaXimumbreak intend to interview both Tony Drago and Patsy Fagan to ask about their transition from snooker to pool - I for one think it's an interesting subject since more and more snooker players are doing the same.

Well what a fantastic weekend we had at the EPT Midlands Open in Solihull. The event was won by Neil Raybone who beat the dutch star Nick van den Berg 10-4 in the final. Neil played fanstastically well throughout the weekend. In his last 32 match against Mick Hill, he recorded 10 straight 8-ball clearances, including 5 on his own break and 5 on his Mick's break, from 2-0 down to win 10-2! Now that's world class play....

Tony Drago got off to a flying start and looked to be cruising in winning his first two matches 10-3 against Andy Nicolson and Jon Davies, two very accomplished 9ball players. However, Drago ultimately succumbed to the eventual winner in a fairly close encounter, which saw Raybone winning to 7.

Whilst at the event I found out that two other ex-professional snooker players were in attendance along with one time legend Patsy Fagan. Mark Gray has had a great start to his US pool career having won 3 events in his first year. Les Dodd also entered the event and, as did Patsy Fagan, lost out in the first round.
Any snooker players wishing to get into the game should seriously consider entering these events. The EPT is a great tour that, according to the founder Mark Segal, is going to get a whole lot bigger.
