    5. There's one I've been looking for with Michael Caine as an older husband and (I think) Donald Sutherland as the wife's younger lover and the plot is really good but I can't think of the name, I just remember I really liked it.
those 2 have a classic one : The Eagle Has Landed
can'nt find any other movie with 2 of them .

Edit : did'nt read post NR 12 . that could be it .

        Only 5? blimey....

A bit like songs ie depends on mood, but I'll have a ponder of "if I could only have\watch 5"

        In the mean time:

Given the blood lust above: have a look at Baise Moi

Four Minutes - a far superior, and maybe original of before US cleansing remake of Whiplash.

Something Korean: Guilty of Romance or Coldfish.

Noce Blanche or Girl on a Bridge: Paradis at her sublime best

Metropolis - the full marathon jobby with all the lost\cut stuff .
You can post as many as you want my friend.

Definitely worth while; watch the normal version, then watch the Directors Cut version - without the Vangelis music, very different for the same film

Now if Ridley Scott could direct a film of David Zindell's sci fi novel Neverness I would die a happy man.
I will look for it when it comes out but I am not sure about doing a sequel of such a seminal film

Does that include me? I hope so, because I've gone through our collection again and again, but I can't possibly whittle it down to anything less, I've already butchered my original list. Here goes:

                    12 Angry Men
                    2001 A Space Odyssey
                    Amadeus
                    Blue Velvet
                    Bringing Out the Dead
                    Dune
                    Empire of the Sun
                    Fight Club
Flight of the Phoenix (the original, of course)
                    Gattaca
                    Insignificance
                    Master and Commander
                    My Cousin Vinny
Once Upon a Time in the West
                    Papillon
                    Parents
                    Quills
                    Shine
                    Silent Running

                    Twin Town
                    Two Hands
                    Usual Suspects
                    Waking Ned
                    Withnail and I
                    Wondrous Oblivion

                    Every one a classic, IMHO.

Haha that's the one. How can the "death" of a little robot bring you to tears? Brilliant.
