    Thanks for showing those Bitter!

It puts me in mind of a question I've had before about Quick-release joints,
    and never asked...

    Q: Why?

In years gone by I can understand wearing out your wrist and opponent's patience (not necessarily a bad thing come to think of it)
un-screwing and re-screwing and un-screwing and re-screwing for every long bridge shot.
Now with mini and other SD tele-extensions I can appreciate Quick-release for the butt end.
But, why should I give a phut about a 3/4 or 1/2 Quick-release joint I never undo until I'm packing up?

    Cheers.

Being a Pool Player the 3/4 quick release is great as many pubs and clubs have area's a full cue cannot be used, walls etc.....

Hence any good cue designer will use the same joint in 3/4 and mini butt allowing you to quickly make up a short cue.

        Thanks Bitter. Good answer.

How I miss using sawed-off cues!. Not.

[ I think "they" banned encroaching walls here at the same time as smoking ].

        Cheers.

If they banned it in Wales 70% of the teams would be looking for a new pub ?

Pretty much the same in England, some pubs having to unscrew cue around 3-5 times a game.

Maybe lads like Ronnie developed these huge, long drawback strokes... because they had so much space... well... they just COULD!

You would need to replace base joint of the parris.

He also puts his 3/4 joints in the wrong way.
This stop's you from using mini butt as a short butt.
