when I worked at achway snooker club many moons ago. They had 34 new riliey tables installed and the cue ball used to jump on a lot of them, the problem was cured by the fitter placing beer matts between the table slate and cusion rail, so raising it. This would suggest a small ball or low cusions cause the Jumping.
