  • What do you use to maintain your tip??

I'm using a Talisman medium which I'm extremely happy with but following on from another thread re. not holding chalk too well I use sandpaper just to scuff it up now and again (usually after miscue).

I'm just wondering what tools are people using just to maintain the tip and how often you use it.

I have heard of the scuff type and then the tapper type and the tip pik also.

I also would like to know if these tools are used too frequently if they end up damaging the tip?

I assume frequent scuffing will soon wear it down and the pik looks like it can do some damage especially on laminates.

A tip pik with a little pressure will not do laminated tips any harm. You could use a little emery board and use any of them when the tip is not taking chalk very well.

I have one of these multi tip tool things from Adr which works okay.

I find sandpaper is as good enough for the job.
