  • Butt protector eBa

Hi there, was wondering if anyone has purchased one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/One-Pool-S...2#ht_575wt_922

Are they any good ie do they do the job?
Also if you do have one....any chance of a photo of the actual business end of protector? Instead of as in photos on eBa of just plug on end of cue!

i had one, its really easily made, its like a giant drawing pin, with a plastic plug fitted over the spike, it fitted perfect in my cue, but the more you use it the looser it gets, so when using extensions etc it will slowly get looser and then will no longer stay in

And now for a serious comment. If you play on hard cement floors then I could see getting one of these or if you are the type of player who smacks his butt hard into the floor when he misses.

If you play in a carpeted club then there's no reason to get one of these.

Also, you can accomplish the same thing (but of course no so pretty) by going to your local ironmonger and finding a metal screw which fits your butt socket and then cutting it down and smoothing it off with a file, although you have to leave enough so you can grip it
