  • Another tip question.

    Just fitted a 10mm blue diamond to a 9.25 mm ferrule, trimmed it up nicely but it looks ridiculously thick. Do you trim the depth and what's the best way to do it. Is the method the same for both pressed and layered tips. Thanks, Mike.

    You can either file it down or i sometimes take some off the bottom if their too high , if you are going to file it then leave it bigger than intended as it will go smaller when its played in .

      I just simply use Emery paper (ones for preparing car bodywork as the sand from normal sandpaper can get caught in the fibres). Emery lasts much longer too. Something around 150-250 grit is what I use to take it down fast then use a higher grit to finish or as I use, a metal File.

        I prefer not to trim my blue diamond tips i will put it in a vice for a day or two and keep it nice and tight then they are ready to be shaped and ready for play.
        Not played for 3 years and itching for a game....11-3-2017.
