It marks the table more noticably, meaning the owner has to have them brushed down more often

Ok. But after I played for an hour I can feel the chalk on my face and cue. But its not when I use a blue one.

In our club when it was open it depended how regular you were, ie, if you were in seven days a week spending loads you could use blue, brown, even red, but if you only came in once in a while you would get a slap for using other than the green provided.

That's what I mean, some people are sure the Triangle Green is actually Blue,

I think it's good snooker etiquette to try and use chalk that won't leave noticeable marks around the baize and cue ball, so if your talking about the dark blue, it should only really be used for pool on the blue cloths, light green or spruce is the norm for snooker, maybe you mean the light green which is on the left? triangle-chalk-green-12--6773-p[ekm]300x193[ekm].jpg

Got it. I used to play American pool. Blue chalks won't be all over my face when I'm using them.

Thanks mate. I think there is only one snooker club in my town so don't want them put me in the black list.
