  • Glue on side walls of tip? Good / Bad Idea?

Hi just wondering if anyone has glued the side walls after retiping? I ask bcoz just put a new elk on and after cuting and shaping i noticed like a faint line ( kind of a crack) on the side of the tip? So i put very little amount of super glue gel around the walls of the tip.. Should be fine should it?? I used to enjoy putting tips on but seriously its become a BIG headace now..

As long as its not on any part that is likely to make contact with the white then its ok . If i have this problem i put a tiny amount of glue on a stanley blade and ease it in , then press on the tip . Very fine grit paper to finish .

Make sure its not right at the top of the sides of the tip as this can make the edge very sharp and can rip a cloth if mis-cued (I've seen it happen)
