When people say 10 mill tip it means ten mill , not a seven mill ferrule with a ten mill tip stuck on it.

Yep your right JRC , I won't know what to do as it's got right into my head and ruined the cue for me, for no real reason , I might see if I could use the shaft as a donor shaft , I don't know, it was a very cheap cue but it really is a cracker of a shaft.
I would add the tip was completely flush to the ferrule anyway and if anything slightly followed the taper. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

I don't know that's why I bought the callipers lol.
I play with a ten mill, bought a 9.7 mill thought I wouldn't even notice 0.3 mill difference, but it looks tiny compared to my ten mill. Hope that makes it a bit clearer. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Havnt read the entire thread but those cheap digital calipers off ebay are very poor and give many inconsistant readings. You can measure the same object half a dozen times and get conflicting results each time."When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it." - Henry Ford

This was discussed in the thread Maverick, it's about not putting too much pressure on ,when closing them. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Well the callipers came and the tip (or ferrule) ended up 9.53/4 at the top so it's not exactly as advertised but its well within normal snooker range, if that's the right saying, so it's me not the cue, measured my other cue and it was 10.01 at the top of the ferrule , you wouldn't think you would see less than half a mill but it's so obvious.
I can't reduce the shaft as it would be too short after it, so I will probably stick it on eBay, it's a right shame because it's a cracking shaft on it.This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Well I live and learn, it wasn't an expensive cue, I fact it was dirt cheap, I only bought it for the shaft, so I won't get stung on it(fingers crossed). This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!
