  • Squashed Elk

I put a new Elkmaster on my cue a week or 2 ago and now it's squashed down on the side with the arrows, I guess this is from me hitting screw and stun shots more than top, and also a little harder, or maybe a lot harder at times. It's sort of sticking out from the ferrule now (it was flush when I shaped it first).

My question is should I sand it flush to the ferrule again or just put a nice dome on the top and leave the sides as they are?

I would say carefully trim the sides again with a blade to get it flush again, burnish the sides with a new bank note and dome the top again if need be. Should be ok after this.

When i am fitting a new elk i only roughly shape it because they do squash down alot play with it for about 3 weeks then shape it how i like it and they hold there shape alot better and longer.
