Cue maintenance

Got a new cue on its way to me from Thailand.

Just wondering what regular maintenance should I be doing to keep it looking great and good condition.

My existing cue is a 30 year old CueCraft Sherwood and looks great for the age but the shaft has slightly darkened and I never did anything to maintain it other than just wiping it with a dry towel.

Should I regularly wax or oil the cue or use any other specific cue cleaning/conditioner products?

I personally have never done anything to my cues apart from using a damp towel to clean them. My cue that I'm currently using is probably around 60+ years old, and that's all I've ever done

Damp towel, dry towel maybe some cue silk every now and again. If the grain filler fades after a few years (rare tbh with Thai cues because they put a lasting finish on usually) consider a re oil, if your chin whiskers start getting caught in the grain it needs a re finish again.
