  • My cue has split is it repairable?

    Hello forum I need advice.

My cue has developed a hairline, 2 inch split in the ebony butt.

The split is through the front Kingwood splice.

It has essentially split length ways through the badge and down to the extension joint but it appears not to spread through to the ebony.

I have a couple of questions really.

How could it have happened, can it be repaired and is it expensive.

Your advice would be appreciated particularly from those of you who have experience making and repairing cues.

PS I have tried to take a picture of the butt; however the split is very hard to see.

    Thankyou

My guess is there's an sd joint in the butt?

I think sometimes the joint can be very tightly fitted and if the wood shrinks slightly, the brass doesn't and the timber splits.
