Donor shafts? Is that using old cues and splicing on them?

I do understand Jason's approach and like what he is doing in his method of working through from step one to completion. He is a perfectionist!

What are the best ways to keep costs down?

Yes it definitely would have been easier to splice a few donor shafts and go along the root of adding a few front splices to cues. I have done a little bit of that in the past and not enjoyed it as much as creating a whole cue from scratch. I wanted and still want to learn how to make cues from scratch.

That said I have enquired into buying pre tapered shafts from Craftsman and various Chinese sources but no-one at the moment can supply as they are all too busy. This would have been an easier way to cut my teeth but then would I have ever learnt how to properly make a hand made cue, probably not.
