I think its a shame he is selling it, what a great life souvenir for the guy who was given it.
I guess he has fallen out of love with Snooker.
Shame Ronnie didnt give it to someone who then went on and used it as his own playing cue.

So a thought for you all....
What would Joe Davis's original playing cue be worth?
Its in a case in Thurstons Museum at the mo.

so i emailed the nutter to ask what he actually wanted - you are going to like this!

"it's obviously still a lot of money but i wouldnt except anything less than £50,000. this would be considered priceless to a lot of people so im sure it would be possible to find a buyer."

Does John only pick the wood for the pros.

Am I right in thinking that majority of his wood will be imported / delivered to his workshop and just worked on??

Well if you believe his Q&A on his website it says

Does John Parris personally work on the cues anymore

Yes I do. I personally select most of the exotic timber and all of the Ash and Maple we use from specialist suppliers. Spending many sometimes back breaking but rewarding hours choosing woods for their grain pattern and quality. In the workshop I carry out what I consider the most important tasks I do some of the work on all of the cues with all other work being done under my close supervision. Nothing happens without my approval. The craftsmen I employ have many years experience in their own skills such as Joinery, Engineering and French Polishing. Some have been with me for up to twenty years. I have taken those skills and applied them to making cues my way. I check the cues at every stage of their creation to make sure everything is perfect. No cues leave the workshop without my final test and inspection.

Well I dont believe this as otherwise people would complain about the new parris cues.

From what I read on this forum, the old parris cues are so much better than the new ones.

if these guys are that skilled and good then why dont they go it alone? Surely stating, you work on majority of parris cues on your cv would work in they favour??
