  • Stephen Maguire's Cue

I was rather taken with the look of Stephen Maguire's cue - appears remarkably similar to my own Mastercraft Custom made cue which is a one piece maple cue with single splice of stripey Kingwood and Orange / yellow veneer.

Does anyone know the specs re Maguire's cue - who is it made by and what woods are used.

I would also be interested in length, weight , tip size and preferred tip.

Thanks in advance from cue spotting anorak.

    regards Sprogbasket

    hi fellow cue-spotting-anorak
The info I have for Steve's cue is below, I will not say whether it is correct but gleaned from various previous postings on TSF.
John Parris Ultimate, 1pc, 58.5", maple shaft
    ferrule? butt? any splices?

Obviously if anyone can fill in the "blanks" I would be also grateful
    cheers

        Hi there.
Just checked some PTC12 video and Stephen is not using a cue like this, the one on the video definitely has a small round badge on an ebony butt that is either plain or has a single dark wood front splice - just cannot make it out from the footage I found.
Also that advert has been there for quite a while I think.
        Cheers

I always thought he was using an Ultimate that is just plain ebony...
Is he the one who took his cue in to JP's shop for a ferrule job when the person doing it cut his cue shorter before the ferrule was put on?

The cue he used in PTC12 was a Robin Cook cue. (I was there..he told..didn't ask specs, sorry)

Just looks like a plain ebony maple number to me...
