I must have had a good piece because the wenge I've used was a pleasure to work with. It cut very cleanly with no tear out and sanded to a high shine. Must have just been lucky I guess.

Makes perfect sense really! Great experience for you though and you certainly got a beautiful result out of the wood and the customer is happy. I think people will often look for something that is different and unusual and as MW pointed out there is a probably a good reason why you don't see it around.

I'm happy with Ebony and a single splice of Birds Eye Maple a la Joe Davis' or could be pushed for a bit of Masur Birch if feeling daring!!

Just read up on it a little more and discovered it is an irritant to the eyes, I certainly was lucky as was never goggled up! I remember it 'catching' a few times on the plane, I put it down to my technique Beautiful stuff once finished!

Both cues are custom orders, although I am taking orders at the mo, 3 month wait.

Hadn't heard back from Cue 48 so good to know he is happy with it.
I've gone to a screw thread for the mini joint as I prefer it to the 1klik. No real reason really.
