I had an Alfa once. Remote release for the boot was up by the driver. Every time you pulled it the cable came off and you had to crawl through the back seat with a torch and a screwdriver to reattach it. The retention mechanism was simply not up to the job of securing the cable. Engineered by idiots. And bought by one who learned his lesson. One week after trading it in the police came to the door at 2am in the morning to tell me my wife had died in a car crash. I told them my wife was upstairs in bed asleep. They didn't believe me until I brought her down. Turned out the lady who bought the Alfa from the dealer I traded with had lost control on a corner and crashed with fatal consequences. No one else was involved and I always suspected mechanical failure. She hadn't even had chance for the change of ownership to be processed. Hence the police visit to me.
