  • Not so Purple Heart

    Hi folks

I had a really nice piece of Purple Heart hear so decided to put a decrative splice onto a cue I made a few weeks back

....I've made an @rse of it !but that's not the question

I cut a wedge from the block glued it to the cue . I've planed it down /sanded ECT . Now it's on the cue the wood is more of a brown colour . Closer to padauk than PH .

    What gives ?

. . and then turn brown again over time ( albeit , quite a long time ).

I'm still tempted to get Jim Black to do me a copy of that purpleheart shafted cue. . .
