  • leather pad butt protector

    Hi guys

Know the leather pad that cue makers fit on the butt of cues that don't have extension joints installed? it sorta protects the butt when we place the cue standing on the floor from scratches etc. Just bought a cue and it didnt come with that - I'm wondering how I can do this myself? anyone has experience retro fitting one?

I just buy a bit of leather from ebay usually the thicker trimmings do fine, even an old leather belt would do. Just cut roughly to shape glue it on then you can carefully sand down to shape but don't use rough sandpaper, a fine grade sander on a drill or similar makes it easy.

Tony Glover did a beautiful job on mine a few years back, you might want to contact him.
