  • Should I have more than 1 cue?

I currently play in a snooker team and also a pool team. My cue is suited to snooker more so than pool but people have said I should carry a different cue for when I play pool.

Is this true? Should I have a different cue for when I play snooker or pool?

If you can control the cue ball when playing pool then stick with the same cue- I play both to a decent standard and use the same cue for both- IMO not good changing cues/Specs stick to one.

what is the reason people have advised?

your current cue 1 piece or 3/4?

If you have a 3/4 , why not just get a spare shaft made for pool , cheaper option , same butt but two different cues .

Never thought about that. How do I go about finding just a spare shaft?

I would contact Andy Travis (member on here), send a photo or two of the cue you have, showing the joint, etc. and ask about getting a pool shaft to match, and his availability, etc.
Andy has done several jobs for me over the years, all good quality, quick timing, and good rates; I highly recommend him.
Get a few more posts to get over 10, then a bit of patience and you will gain the PM function which you can use to contact Andy
                        Up the TSF! :snooker:

Two cues is the proper way to go unless you are playing both games to a high standard and can use the same cue.

I'm just playing for competitive fun in leagues. I don't take it too serious, just enjoy the game (snooker more)
