    hi new here

been playing pool for many years and noticed lots of people using all different sizes from 8mm to about 12-13mm and one mate even had a 6mm tip on a cue he got off his dad that was brought in the 50's is there any rules on tip size as most people use 8mm-10mm for pool and snooker and 11-13mm for american pool and 9-ball

was looking at getting a 6mm tip but cant find anyone to make it so now just brought a stanley cue http://www.sgpl.co.uk/9-cueshop.htm REF: SGPL132
got 5 cues now and play with them all apart from a 9 ball 13mm tip which i only use to break with

    cheers dean

A friend i play pool with uses a 6mm (or less actually) tip for pool. Its terrible, he frequently mis-cues but refuses to junk the cue for something decent. As for snooker, i wouldnt personally want to use anything much under 9mm, and anything much over 10mm is too big for me. My snooker cue is around 9.25 and my pool cue is a smidge under 9. These seem to work for me, but everyone is different.
