The story behind this cue is I bought it from the original owner, a lad called Davey Taylor from Hartlepool, the cue was a maple Parris Traditional, but Davey had 4 splices added to the butt, to put back the length after having the cue shortened to thicken up the shaft, he told me the work was done by Parris, I had no reason to doubt him. After selling the cue to John Farmer, John Farmer wasn't entirely sure that the cue was a Parris, so took it down to see John Parris himself, John Parris after inspecting the cue said it was one of his cues but he hadn't put the 4 extra splices on the butt, John Farmer returned the cue to me and had a Wooldridge .
I've seen Davey Taylor since I found out John Parris didn't do the splice work, Davey was still sure that he got Parris to do the alteration, Davey's is always messing on with different cues, so he's probably got confused with what and where he had got whatever done !
The cue sat for a long time in the shop until ex pro Jon Birch came in looking for a new cue, Jon tried it out, loved it, bought it !! that was the last time I saw it until now !!
