you forget to mention the £250k odd it costs you even for a poor guy like me!! thats an expensive lifestyle choice!
I must be lucky cos the wife paid for my cue!
I get a feeling though that if it all went pear shaped it's all I'd be left with!
It's certainly the first thing I'd get out of the house if I thought see wanted to get at me!
Not been married a year yet though. I cunningly got married on the same week as the Wold final so as to never forget my anniversary!
Jeeze Watford aint no one ever told you the rules of being married yet?
Rule #1 : Never ever leave your best cue in the house alone with her indoors.
(Your still in the luvvy duvvy stage though and no doubt she's still thinks she's training you. Believe me mate it'll happen one day you'll walk in half ****ed 3 hours late and see her doled up to the nines and fuming because you promised to take her to the flicks or somewhere. When (not if) it happens the wise man will look in the dogs bowl at the remnants of his supper and silently thank god the cue is safe elsewhere.
Rule #2 : Invest in an old fashioned case and a decent padlock and keep it at the club. Hell me grandad told me that one when I was 6
Rule #3 : Add your cue to the all risks section of your contents insurance so that it's covered away from the home. Clubs aint as safe as they were years back. (That's my rule I've been an insurance broker / IFA for years and it's been on top of every reason why letter/ report I've ever wrote.)
Rule #4 : Get a cheap cue and a case (with a decent lock in your situation as she bought your cue so she would recognise it if she opened it.) and leave it indoors always. If your lucky a day or so afterwards she might say she regrets giving it to the rag and bone man and buy you another.
There's lots more but thems the basics.
P.S. if your into fishing do as my dad did... build a brick shed with a reinforced door and grade A locks and keep the keys well hidden.
Sanctuary he calls it, He even locks himself in it now and then.
Ahhh you see I've got a pool table at home and I play in two clubs (not to mention away matches etc.) so I need to have my cue at home.
I could pad lock or hide it though!
I have been known to hide it under my bed if the wife's teenage sons are going to be left in the house with it.
Hmmm dummy cue, I'll work on that one!
Cheers for the words of wisdom Wity!

Hi
Thank you for your information.
Even though some cue makers have workshops in UK, you still cannot guarantee its products are genuine UK made!
Some cue makers just make the beautifully finished mini butts and/or 14" butts with a mini lathe and import the shafts from China. This is called "International Marketing"! Right?

Importing shafts from China???...............I wish.
That would save me the back breaking work in selecting the timber for them.
I can catagorically say that ALL the cues I produce are made solely by me, here in Wales.
