  • After a 10 foot table.

    Hi all,
my nieghbour is looking for a 10 foot snooker table that will take full size snooker balls.
He also wants 8 turned legs and 2 inch slates. His budget is around £500 - £600.
Any help will be much appreciated.
    ATB
    Danny

P.S. he lives in Essex so the closer to home the better.
Did you put my "1" up ?

From what I have seen, 10ft tables are very popular and hold their price more than 12ft tables.
        Up the TSF! :snooker:

I think you are right. He might have a task finding one for that money.

Too right they are more expensive and hold their price , and to find one with 8 legs rather than the 6 leg version even more so , at £500 to £600 that is buy in trade price after a renovation add in the collection and delivery costs and Maryfields £1500 is a good price .
We have a Modern Riley 10ft in at the moment we have just sold it for £1900+vat + delivery costs , only 6 legs and a 5 piece slate .
I'm not saying that you won't find one at that price of £500 to £600 on ebay but being a 10ft it will attract a few bidders , but you then also have to add in costs of collection and Delivery normaly around £350 to £500 depending on distance and thats without a recover / new balls and cue's etc .

I agree geoff. Luckily for him he has transport and help so delivery costs are vertualy zero.
Still going to be a tough find though.
If you or anyone else finds one please could you let me know.

              Many thanks

I don't recall ever seeing a 10' on 8 legs although from Geoff's post it appears they do exist. Why would you use 8 legs since there would be about the same weight on each leg of a 6 leg 10' as there would be on each leg of an 8 leg 12'? (If that makes any sense to anybody).

Of course I can get you as many 10' tables as you wnat here for maybe just over 500 pounds. 6 legs, 2" or heavier slate bed etc. etc. The catch is you have to collect ;-)

Phil I used to have one about 22 years ago , I came across one that had been discarded in the back garden shed of a club , the slates where outside and one of them had been split with frost , water getting into the end bolt holes and freezing thus expanding and spliting the slate which was the second slate in , I managed to repair it by putting fibreglass resin into the split and clamping it together for a week then floated the slates I do have a photo of it on my patio at my second house somewhere , the table was a traditional riley with 8 legs , it is now in scotland .
it was common for manufacturers such as riley to offer 6 or 8 leg 10ft tables and i have worked on many 8 leg 10fts .
it was the same design as this riley

you can still buy a new 10ft with 8 legs from this link , don't know the quality of them though .
