  • Room size for a 10 ft snooker table

    Hi there,

    I'm having a bit of a dilemma.
A few years back I've build a little house in my back garden for a 9ft american pooltable.
Inside measurements are 18,5 ft by 16,4 ft.

Since I like to start playing snooker in a league, I would also like to be able to practice at home.
I'm fully aware that it's impossible to fit a full size snooker in the house but maybe it's worth considering a 10 ft table?
    Please give me some advice...

essentially you need 5' extra around a table to allow for cueing, so a 10'x5' table would need (minimum) 20'x15'

15 ft is no problem, I have 16, 4 ft.
The minimum required 20 ft is what I'm thinking off.
Would this be a big problem?

only when you are playing directly from the short ends and when you are close to the cushion
It may work but you may not like it and it become a bug-bear that puts you off playing.
        something to think about

Still go for it imo. You will have to use smaller cues for the cushion shots on the length of course but at the business end of the table ( black spot where you want to be ) you will get great enjoyment from the practice and thus proving beneficial.

Agreed 100%. 20' is perfect but get her central on the length and yes, you will have a few problems. If you don't go for it you will have nothing which is much worse

Many thanks for all of your reply's.
I also think I'll have to go for the 10 footer.

Anybody ever heard of a Matchroom snookertable?

I got one shipped to Europe. Geoff Large can probably get you sorted out.
