  • Looking at buying USED BCE WESTBURY

Maybe Geoff can answer this question after looking at the photo. I have a chance to buy this table at a great price but I am 3 hours away from its location so they have sent me a lot of photos but I have been trying to determine if it is a steel block table. There is one photo which I gave attached which looks strange compared to my Steel Block Burroughs n Watts. I will post a bunch more photos shortly. Any info would be great.

What do you consider a great price ??
You already have a nice table that you cannot pot balls on

Why did I know you would be the first one to reply.... $500 I know my table looks great but plays like ****. I had the pockets opened but they took so much rubber off to do it now I am hitting wood half way back in the pocket. If I roll one down the rail at medium pace it will not go in now because it hits wood.

look back Les, I posted a reply
do you have confidence that a new table will be better?
didn't BCE do an export table which was different to the home market?
              look forward to Geoff's contribution.
also can you sell your B&W?

or don't they shave the wood to allow suitable rubber thickness round the curve?

I started with new Northern Rubber when I fist bought it. When all said and done my pockets where 3-1/4" almost un playable at least for me. But that is the way the table was made to play. I had them made bigger but the wood was in the way so they shaved some of the wood away but not enough. Just sick of my table. As my son said last night Dad you where playing much better before you bought this table. Now I have lost interest to even play on it.

For a couple of hundred pound just buy it and try it, but keep your old table dismantled somewhere for six months to see how it goes, if it doesn't work out then swap them back over, I have no idea how much work is involved in all that as you can probably tell.

I could do it myself but the slate is a killer. I am just trying to find out if it is steel block but no answer yet.
