  • All slate table

    Hi,
I hope someone can help. I had a look at an unusual table today. It’s a full size burroughes and watts table, it has four top slates and the base is all slate. The legs are octagon shape and are made of slate also. The base is painted in a stipple effect to look like a kind of weird stone. Anyone know anything about it

    Much appreciated, Thanks Nick

To my knowledge, the only company making a slate framed billiard table was George Magnus of Pimlico, who started making such tables in 1840 and continued to do so into the 1880s. I assume you have taken the nameplate on the cushions to be that of the maker.
