  • Ladies World Championships

The World Ladies Billiards & Snooker Championships are being held between 1st and 6th April 2006 at Cambridge Snooker Centre.
The Championships consist of 6 events - Snooker, Billiards, Doubles, Seniors (40+), Plate, plus a new event being introduced this year - THE WORLD MIXED PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP. You can either enter this event with a partner, or as an individual with your partner to be drawn out. I am told that at the moment there are more female entries than male, so come on guys, get your act together!!!

Currently the Ladies World Championships still does not have an overall title sponsor. If anyone out there has any interest in this, or knows of anyone who may be interested please get in touch. Last year the tournament attracted media interest from local and national newspapers, BBC TV and local radio, plus support from major websites such as World Snooker, IBSF and EABA, so the profile of the package is pretty high for any potential sponsor.

Anyone who needs any more info please PM me and I'll get back to you.

haven't seen a dedicated one yet, but some more info's on http://www.globalsnookercentre.co.uk...ladieshome.htm

but Phil's offered more info if you PM him Ranen; have you tried that yet?

It'd be great if they got 888.com to sponsor them; or anyone I suppose.

What a pity this needs to go in the Amateur section; does that mean that if 888 say, sponsored the event, the players couldn't take any money; even those "trust fund" type athletic revenue avenues?

The results in the sites are not updates. Its got results only upto the group stage. Only the Indian news paper 'The Hindu' has got it. Well does anybody at this point of time know who has entered the finals? Is the finals over as yet?

But I've just looked at the bottom lik and can see all the way upto the Final; who's in it (Ronnie O'Sullivan's cousin got to the semi stage), the date they're playing (now, started 3hrs ago), the prize money (£800 winner) etc etc.

try that link again and you'll find the results Ranen; use "last 32" and it's all there.... as well as loads other info too.

OOPS.....Sorry. Didnt go to the page on the right! Got it! The Pre-Quarters are still empty. The semis and Finals are filled in.
Sad for Indias Anuja Thakur had to bow out in the semis.

                    PS:Who is Ronnie's cousin?

Not at this end; it's got a tab on the bottom to choose all manner of options including the finals drawsheet.

so you know.... Reanne Evans is playing Emma Bonney in the final; best of 7 I'm assuming. (R.E. beat Anuja Thakur yesterday 4-2 with a high break of 56, in her quarter final she overcame Meenal Thakur on Monday by 4 frames to 2 with breaks of 57 and 78; other qrtrs & semi's involved Chitra Magimairaj and Vidya Pillai)

your other post came in over me writing this. no, I was picking out, "2006 World Ladies Snooker Championship".

Never heard about her earlier. Never even knew Ronnie had a cousin in snooker.
