  • Barry Stark's Grip

Does anyone use this kind of grip? What is the results?

Strangely enough, in all the tutorials on YouTube, no one else teaches it this way.

    2:48
to take the cue back and then the rear
    2:51
of the hand here helps to deliver the
    2:54
cue that first initial movement of the
    3:00
transition between going back and going
    3:03
    forward so very very important

I have to clarify: Is this about Barry placing his middle finger on his ring finger to achieve a certain effect?
Otherwise, it is generally common practice (not only in snooker, but also in American pool) to only hold the cue butt between the thumb and index finger and to loosely stabilize the hold with the middle finger.
This helps, among other things, to keep the queue level as possible during the shot.
In snooker, Mark Allen is probably one of the players who does this very accentuatedly.

The two key parts are the flesh part between the thumb and the forefinger(the "V" part), and then the third finger.
Always maintain contact with the cue at these two key parts of the grip.
