  • snooker ball position marker

    Salam,
A player showed me a snooker ball position marker and I like to know if any one could describe the use of different part of this marker .
I tried to put the images here but was not able to, so i give the link to it.

The EASB sell ball markers through their online shop (but diffewrent to the one you illustrate):

To mark a ball, the ball should be carefully held in place with one finger and the ball marker, with cut away portion, pushed against the ball till it makes contact. The ball can then be removed for cleaning.

If the ball marker is stood upright on its shortest side, it can be used to check whether a colour can be repsotted on a spot, because that shortest side is exactly half of a ball width. If it is carefully pushed towards a ball which is close to obstructing a spot, then it can be clearly judged whether the furthest edge of the ball marker from the possible obstructing ball is clear of the centre of the spot or not.

The width of the marker is exactly a ball-width, so it can also be used to judge whether a free-ball situation exists, by resting it on its longer side and standing it against a possible obstructing ball, and using visual judgement to see whether the cue ball would pass and have contact on the furthest edge of the ball on.

Here's a video on YouTube which explains the use of a ball marker:

        Salam,
        Thank you for reply.

I asked about different part of that particular " ball marker " . I numbered a few parts so it can be easily seen but still left some other parts which are also needed to be described .
