Aha thanks Terry (so obvious now lol) it was aiming Jim was on about , he did say sighting but then said aim for the left hand side of the pocket, as a rule(on a good day)i hit the object ball where i am looking so generally i am just aiming at the wrong spot.
I try very hard now to trust my aiming and just use the sighting to confirm it, in the past(and still sometimes now)i would aim drop down on the shot then say to myself "that doesnt look right," move, miss, and it was another pot i had talked myself out of, now when i aim, drop down, whatever happens i stay still and try my best to hit where i aimed.

Wish I lived in Glasgow and could have a coaching session with Jim Donnely. I too notice when trying to pot the blue off the spot I usually miss by the same amount, BUT can't figure out how to correct it for consistent potting of the blue??? I'll try the longer pause.
      What is the fan system?
Hope you keep enjoying the new lease of life with your game.
