  • Which book or books should I be reading?

Having fallen back in love with the game I now want to better understand the technical aspects of the game and use these to improve my overall game.

Which book or books provide the most useful advice and analysis of the game and its finer points?

    Thanks

Frank Callan's book is pretty good and there's also a good one by Terry Griffiths with a lot of technical detail. I haven't seen any of the newer books but I understand the Jimmy White Master Class (his second one) is very good too.

With your luck mate, you'll send the penny and the guy won't send the book. "Successful Snooker" by Steve Davis was a good book but you could do a lot worse than watch a lot of YouTube footage of John Higgins and Sean Murphy leaving the cue through on the line. I meant to put that on a thread the other day about the follow through. I forgot.

'The Complete Book of Snooker' by Eddie Charlton is a good book.

Plus it has lots of cool trick shots and how to do them.

My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

Hi Terry. With regard to Terry Griffith's book, there appears to be a couple he wrote in the 80's:

Complete Snooker (Pelham practical sports) By Terry Griffiths, Julian Worthington

Championship Snooker by Griffiths, Terry; Everton, Clive

Can you tell me the one you recommend ? Thanks

I can't find my Terry Griffiths book but I think it was the Championship Snooker if memory serves.

Another good book I have here is Crowood Sports Guides, Complete Snooker & Billiards by Clive Everton

I just spat out a bit of my banana lol... someone close to David needs to get the ball rolling!
